Here’s Something Scary

We hope you have a spooky-sweet Halloween!

Here at Taxpayers 4 Avon Schools, we have dedicated our entire Referendum Renewal campaign to casting a positive vision about the benefits of voting YES on November 4 for our students, educators, families, and community.

What we haven’t done is to share what happens if our community votes NO. It’s scary.

If the Referendum Renewal does not succeed,

• class sizes will get larger and larger,

• excellent educators may move to districts where they can earn more,

• Avon won’t have the funds to continue paying 142 teachers and 31 support staff at the end of the school year,

• and students will notice the absence of many of the activities that they enjoy.

We don’t make this point to scare anyone. (Go to a haunted house if you want to be scared.) We share this information to motivate us all to finish strong.

• Could you make a few additional phone calls?

• Would you help us canvas a few more homes?

• Do you have more friends and neighbors you could ask to vote YES?

• And, by all means, have you cleared your calendar so you have time to vote YES on Tuesday?
