About us
Yes for Avon Schools PAC is a grassroots coalition of parents, local business owners, educators, and taxpayers committed to supporting ACSC and advocating for the renewal of the 2018 operating referendum.
Cuts to state and federal education funding threaten our ability to maintain small class sizes, attract and retain great teachers, and continue providing supports for student success. The 2018 referendum helped us meet these goals — and renewing it will ensure we can continue delivering the high-quality education our students deserve.

Referendum renewal facts
-
Avon Schools is asking voters to renew the 2018 Operating Referendum to protect essential funding for teachers, academic programs, and student support services.
New state laws require most referendums to be held during November elections. Fortunately, ACSC qualifies for a one-time exception to place the referendum on the ballot in November 2025 — giving the district time to plan ahead and avoid major funding disruptions.
-
MAINTAIN SMALL CLASS SIZES
Students thrive when they receive personalized attention and build strong relationships with teachers. Smaller class sizes make that possible. The referendum renewal allows Avon Schools to keep staffing levels strong and classrooms focused.
MAINTAIN COMPETITIVE TEACHER PAY
To recruit and retain top-tier educators, we need to offer competitive salaries and benefits. Since 2018, the referendum has helped us make real progress - and renewal ensures we can continue investing in excellent teachers.
MAINTAIN STUDENT SUPPORTS
Learning is more than test scores. Avon Schools has expanded student wellness initiatives, staff support, and after-school programs. With renewed funding, we can keep building a school culture that supports every student’s growth — academically, socially, and emotionally.
-
The Avon Board of School Trustees has approved a reduction of the maximum referendum tax rate to $0.33 per $100 of assessed property value — lower than the 2018 voter-approved rate of $0.35.
